THE NEW WAY IN / El Nuevo Camino de Entrada
The character and ambiance of the two cities is wonderful. The food is excellent.
One of my main reasons for going to Quebec was to go to the Basilica of St. Anne De Beaupre, which is north of the City of Quebec about a half hour. My Mom always wanted to go to this church and I feel a sense of "tute complet" by going to this absolutely beautiful cathedral. We made two trips to this cathedral during the month of August.
During our wandering around the cities and environs my companion and I noticed that there was a conglomeration of nationalities everywhere we ate, stayed, visited and drove with a sense of freedom and ease from everyone. I did not realize but the school system in Quebec is also Bilingual.
Intuitively and from observation my companion and I have come to the conclusion that many people from Mexico and other Latin American Countries, India and Pakistan, are getting visas to Canada staying there and then trying to get into the United States. One way is they pay what they call "Coyotes" who are people, who, for a price, are willing to risk bringing people across the border illegally.
Since the above procedures are being carried out by refugees and visitors to Canada is the United States making a "possible mistake" in building a physical wall between Mexico and the United States. Are we building our own BERLIN WALL. There has to be other ways to resolve these serious cultural, physical, financial and jurisdictional problems.
A month ago I saw a Utah National Guardsman on television. His outfit was working on the wall they are building between Mexico and the United States and patrolling to apprehend and turn over to the proper authorities people coming into the country illegally. He commented that the wall would not work because his people would find another ways to get into the United States. He came to the United States illegally 10 years ago from one of the Latin American Countries and is now an American citizen.
Perhaps Congress has to look at our borders (north and south) more stringently, especially in areas that are not heavily populated and appropriate more money for the same to protect and expand this beautiful country.
