Earlier last week I went into a hardware store, in a small town in New Jersey, to get a ring larger than the one I have to hold my keys. It was about 8:45AM. there was a gentleman behind the counter, about 59 years old, medium sized, with his back to me. He turned around looked at me and said "I don't feel good" and staggered about 10 feet to sit on a counter. While trying to sit on the counter he started to lean back mumbling then he tried to stand up. As he tried to stand up I saw he was starting to fall. I darted to him to hold him up and shouted for help. He past out with his eyes wide open, swetting, and as white as a ghost. Two other gentlemen employees came in from outside. I told them to call 911. Two police officers came and administered oxygen and called for a ambulance. The gentlemen concerned began to start getting his facalties back as questioned by the police and the ambulance took him to the hospital.
I wonder what would have happened to him if I was not in the store specifically at that moment to catch him and prevent him from falling and possibly injuring himself further in the process.
Since this incident happened I have had a few people tell me that I am BLESSED and that God
wanted me to be in that specific store at that specific minute to save this man's life.
This past Saturday I was at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. While there I met a police officer from Windsor, Canada and had a interesting conversation with him about many issues. When I related to him about the above incident his comment was " the majority of the people would do nothing and you are an exception".
