PREJUDICE IN AMERICA (What To Do About It.)
There has been interracial problems in this country since it was founded and problems between jeolousy and hatred for one nationality over another for years but the country seems to keep moving forward.
The problems which occurred in America in 1967-1968, between blacks and whites, in many of our big cities, it was predicted, would take two generations to repair, and it is taking just about that amount of time.
Now there is an influx of people into this country who are demanding that we speak their language and refuse to follow the example of every other group of people that has come to this country since it was founded.
This group, the hispanics, within their oun culture have as many and even more prejudice from one nationality to another and race that as they assimilate into our society are complicating and compounding the already existing prejudice that exists in this country.
Through my 65 years in many of the businesses I have participated in, I have seen and witnessed prejudice of every kind from every race and almost every nationality. It is not worth mentioning in this dissertation as the remarks or comments are only demeaning and destructive.
I remember when I was a child, about 10 years, old my grandmother and grandfather came to our house for Thanksgiving Dinner. My grandfather was talking in Italian, my father very politely said to him "Pop, your in America, speak English". I have never forgotten this simple little comment by my Dad.
WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.
I believe there should be a Forum or a Congress on Human Relations to discuss ways to help implement better understanding and comprehension of each group and that each group must follow the overall wishes of the majority.
