A Kernel of Corn

This past Week-end I attended the Florida Chiropractic Convention and was impressed with the lecture given by Dr Ed Williams, D.C. . Most of all the other lectures were pertaining to practice rules, diagnose, treatment and insurance. His lecture was basically metaphysical in nature. During his lecture he past kernels of corn around the room. He commented that these kernels will all grow into stalks with about 1200 -1250 other kernels on them because some force, inteligence, cause, God, or unexplanned force that has been making this happen since the beginning of time. The only difference between the kernel of corn and man is the brain and Will. This force which has been explained by prophets in various religions exists.

The key to this force is in giving and service because as you give and serve you feel better and so does the person or persons you are helping. Anyone watching or involved in the service or giving will also be affected. He stated that in the process of giving or service our serotonin level rises, which makes us feel good, and so does the serotonin level of the person receiving and anyone witnessing the same. In the process of giving or service the personal rewards are that you feel better physically, emotionally, spiritually and therefore happier and more fullfilling which will create positive energy and draw people and business to you.

These are things I have known for years and have always done but there are times that we get side tracked. When we get side tracked from service and giving we stop growing. I personally feel that if a person cannot afford to give money than devote time and energy to a cause, entity, organization or any other principle that you sympathize with. Dr Williams stressed the point, to try to live on eighty percent of what you make and to GIVE ten percent and you will reap the rewards personally and in business.
