THOUGHTS

Here I sit
With pen in hand,
And rain taping
On the window pane.

The THOUGHTS are flashing
From BRIGHT to GRAY,
Deciding which
Will be my pick of the day.

""DON'T FORGET IT""

The above title and the following poem are from the Trestle-Board of Acacia Lodge #20 of Free @ Accepted Masons of Dover, New Jersey and was posted for the Month of March by Worshipful Master Neal A. McCarthy, PSGD.

"You are what you will be-
Don't forget it.
And your will is always free-
Don't forget it.
Free to conquer or run,
Free to do or leave undone,
Free to follow or to shun-
Don't forget it.

You are what you will be-
Don't forget it.
You are born to liberty-
Don't forget it.
You can climb if you desire,
Daily upward, ever higher,
Or sink down in deepening mire-
Don't forget it.

You are what you will be-
Don't forget it.
From that choice you cannot flee-
Don't forget it.
You must choose, and you alone,
Twixt that darkness and the throne,
All the future is your own-
Don't forget it."

Ronald

Ronald told me,
Some years ago,
Be careful of your nephew,
I think you should know.

His interests and yours,
Are so diverse,
Yours are so pure,
His are diverse.

The farther your contact,
The better you'l be,
If not he will,
Involve you for eternity.

Stand clear of his wishes,
And watch your back
Follow your dreams,
And detract from his track.

"Your Ornery" ( In a hispano-taino accent)

" GOD doesn't want you Yet and the devil is affraid you are going to take over"

Four years ago,
At a counter,
In a diner,
Having a conversation,
For some time.
The lady was young and bizarre,
The man was old and cool,
We discussed all topics,
Clear and through.
As time past by,
To my surprise,
The aforementioned lady,
Assumed my demise.

REALITY

What was, was,
What is, is,
And what will,
Could, and should be,
I would like to see.

I am your Dad,
As you are a Dad,
As yours are to you,
You are to me.

Driving In The Rain

It was during the night,
Traveling on a country road,
Where the rain was impeding my sight,

I moved to the right,
To change direction.

When a car in front,
Jammed on his brakes,
Almost causing me to crash,
I swerved to the right,
To clear my sight.

Heading in another direction,
A car comes at me playing chicken,
I swerved to the left,
And continue my direction.

When- another car drives head on to me,
I swerved to the right,
And continue on my way,
Arriving at my destination,
Where the Sun is shining,

And the air is brisk and clean.

Christmas Diner

It was a cold brisk day,
With trees like shinning ice,
And a blanket of white on ground.
The family was gathered,
Around the table full and tight,
With the food coming all night.
My Mom wore an apron and was smiling,
My Dad was smiling and bright.
The FAMILY was felicitous and eager,
To see the gifts and JOY,
To each and other we would GIVE.

DO IT

Tic Toc,
Tic Toc,
Is the sound,
Of a clock.

Each second,
It echoes,
The shortness,
Of time.

The longer,
It Tics,
The shorter,
The time.

Let your thoughts,
Come to pass,
Or they fade,
With time.

Put your thoughts,
Into action,
You'l fill
Remaining time.

Depression, envy,
Anger, hate,
Follow malaise,
In time.

Peace and contentment,
Follow desire,
Completed,
In time.

HEARTS AND BUBBLES

This is dedicated to my sister Angela Charlotte Moran, (Cookie, Auntie), who died yesterday June 25, 2006

HEARTS AND BUBBLES

Auntie and Cookie
Were her names,
She answered vividly
To the same,
Her effervescents
Was so reveiling,
She transformed everyone
To be jollily,
Her humility and giving
Always amazed me,
Her compassion for LIFE
As osmosis to All,
Her LOVE of theater
Was her life intention,
Her love of FAMILY
Was her life's DEVOTION,
She passed through
The corrider of life,
Beckoned by relatives
From the past,
May she and they
Watch over me
Protect and guide me
Till we all meet THEE.

Locks And Bagels!!!

It was a quarter to four
On this cloudy day,
I walked into the store
To order and pay,
I sat there and ate
To my hearts delight,
Then became indisposed
For a short period of time,
I came out of the toilet
And much to my surprise,
The store was closed
With me locked in tight,
I called and called
But no one was in sight,
I called the Police
And they gave me some ease,
I sat there awhile
Till someone did come,
He couldn't open the doors
W ith the keys he possessed,
I opened the door
And went on to progress,
The moral to this story
Is to check all doors,
Before closing up
And going home,
I find this situation
Amusing at best,
But a learning lesson
TO CHECK before closing up tight.

RIDING HIGH

Riding through the country
So high and dry,
The stars are glittering
Through an unmasked sky,
The air is fresh and clean
My teeth feel clean,
Passing a set of Tetons
Like a woman's breast
With snow caped peaks
Looking like white veiled tits,
The rivers are so winding
Through meadows and plains
And hills and mountains
With bristine clarity,
The people are so humble
Cautious and secure,
The beauty and serenity
Of Wakontomi's Sky,
Brings peace and contentment
I feel light and high.

This was a dream

The Snake

The following is a poem I wrote in July 2005 and was based on a dream, which is significant, as it was a forwarning of what was about to happen to me and what I must do legally to dispose
the relationship.

Lying in a brass bed
With my lady by my side,
The view was
Southerly and dark.

We were still and sleeping
When much to my supprise,
A snake appeared on the brass head
Mouth wide open curled to strike.

I sprang up quickly
And grabed its neck,
Reached for my case
Scalpelled its head off dissected it too.

The Dogs

Walking in the SUNSHINE,
With Mimi by my side,
The streets were clear and peaceful,
When four wild dogs approached,
One Black,
One Baige,
One Orange,
One Mixed Colors,
They tried to attack us,
I was protecting Mimi,
With my arms stretched out,
The Black dog attacked first,
I grabbed it by its neck,
And through it 20 feet,
Breaking its legs and hip,
The Orange one bit my left leg,
I grabbed its collar,
Held it down,
Punching it with my right hand,
Knocking it out,
I ran after the other two
As they ran away,
Mimi and I walked away,
To get help for my left leg,
Which was bleeding badly.

Poetry - THE WELL

In the midst of darkness I wandered through,
Tough and complicated terratory.
I steped forward one foot over another,
I slipped into a deep WELL breaking both legs.
Calling for help to no avail,
Treading to stay afloat while calling.
Climbing down to attack me,
Five, ten and up to fifteen rats there were.
They approached and tried to bite me,
I crabbed each one and drowned them all.
I kept treading and calling till morning dew,
When a crystal blue eyed lady came to my avail.

THE FISH THAT GOT AWAY

I was Hooked,
Lined,
But NOT Sunk,
And am swimming
Down tropical rivers
To new spring waters
And the Sea of Opportunity.

Mimi My Wife (Written January 1, 2002)

The following poem was written on January 1, 2002 about five weeks after my wife died. I just found it again recently. In looking back in retrospect at the words I wrote then I feel that I cannot have any anger because of some of the things that have happend in my life and in business and in the country. It is better to take the "Road Not Taken" or to give and help rather than harbor bitterness and anger. This is part of my life except where there may be legal proceedings.

Mimi My Wife (Written January 1, 2002)

Twenty-five years of my life,
Forty percent of my life,
My Heart belongs to you,
My Mind belongs to you,
My Spirit belongs to you.

You have been the calmer of my life,
You taught me patience,
You taught me restraint,
You showed me tenderness,
You helped me grow into Spiritual Love.

You gave me peace,
You gave me happiness,
You gave me unending Love,
You never nagged or argued,
In 25 years we only argued once.

I feel empty like an egg shell with nothing,
Your wishes are my life,
In your art I find you,
In your art I feel you,
In your art there is you.

Poetry-TRANSPARENCY

Holding Leala in my arms
Looking into her blue eyes,
An apparition begins to appear
Approaching me in depth.

With arms extended
Mouth wide open,
Warning me of something
I could not understand.

In my hast and amazement
I did not begin to realize,
That which I was seeing
Appeared to be my Mom.

She past away ten years ago
And wanted her family intact,
She wanted property in Italy
To also stay intact.

Sibling number 2 and number 5
Have decided against her desires,
For self interest and money
Rather than FAMILY.

She seemed to be forwarning
Of something being done,
Something she did not like
Expecting me to stop it.

I find this dream perplexing
Coming from my great-niece,
The fifth generation in America
Which makes it so nice.

Poetry - Aspira

Hackers, Hackers how are you?
I know what's to be done with you.

You will be put back in time.
So..you can count your dime.

Let your fingers play your tune.
There should be no keys next June.

"Sweetness"

Dedicated to my sister Nina who died of a blood disorder caused by chemotherapy.

He may not be here
To call your name.

His love for you
Was enduring.

You are his Innocent
Compassionate and Cheerful wife.

Through all the pain and sorrow you felt
Your laugh and smile makes me melt.

"Sweetness" was his enduring term
Instead of calling you by you name.

COURAGE

Dedicated to my deceased wife Mimi who died of a wrongful death.

The Lost Battalion in WWI,
Had its days.
The 442nd in WWII,
Its motto was "Go for Broke".
The Light Brigade at Balaklava Heights,
Went All the way.
Merrill's Marauders in Burma,
Accomplished much to say.
The Rangers at Anzio,
Still went on through time.
Their sacrifices give mind to me,
To Press on for Thee.
Their loses and mine are accepted,
To Prevail in Time.
